Simon Gerlin

Simon Gerlin is an experienced finance professional with a diverse background in senior leadership roles. Currently serving as an Advisory Board Member at Eastern Bank since August 2024, Gerlin has held the position of Chief Financial Officer at MassDevelopment since January 2013. Previous experience includes serving as Board Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for Cambridge Trust Company from July 2020 to July 2024, and as Senior Vice President for Compliance and Internal Audit at Clean Harbors from March 2008 to December 2012, where Gerlin was instrumental in building an Enterprise Risk Management framework. Earlier career experience includes a role as Senior Vice President of Finance at Clean Harbors, managing a field finance organization and leading significant acquisitions, and as a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers from July 1991 to December 2007, specializing in audit services. Gerlin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Political Science from Middlebury College.
