David Thurston

David Thurston is an experienced aviation professional with a diverse background in piloting and management. Currently serving as the Director and UAV Pilot at Carrot Drone Services since April 2015 and as the Chair of the Emerging Technologies Study Group for the British Airline Pilots' Association since October 2022, David also holds the position of Captain at easyJet since November 2017. Prior experience includes roles as Head of Pilot Services and Interim Head of Pilot Management at Monarch Airlines, where David worked from January 2016 to October 2017 and from 1998 to January 2015 as a Captain and Base Pilot Manager in Luton. Early career experience includes instructing at Stapleford Flying Club Limited from 1996 to 1998 and an extensive tenure at Skandia from May 1987 to January 1996, where David progressed from a general duties role to Regional Sales Consultant. David attended Aldenham School from 1984 to 1987.
