Derek VanderWeide is an experienced technology manager currently leading the development of next-generation Electro-Mechanical Actuators at Eaton, contributing to advancements in More Electric Aircraft technologies. Prior to this role, Derek served as a Structural Engineer and Development Engineering Manager at WACO Aircraft Corp, and held multiple positions at Parker Aerospace, including Engineering Manager for both the Electronic Products Team and the Analytical Team. Derek's expertise encompasses aerospace hydraulic systems, simulation, and product development, demonstrated through significant achievements in reducing weight and cost in product designs. Earlier career roles included design engineering at Hilite International and product engineering at Robert Bosch, focusing on automotive and diesel fuel injector technologies. Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Calvin University and an M.B.A. from Western Michigan University.
