Matthew Powell

Matthew Powell has over eight years of experience in cybersecurity, currently serving as the Incident Response Team Lead and Sr. Information Security Analyst at eBay since January 2015. In this role, Matthew handles escalations from analysts, mentors team members, and collaborates with key partners to develop SOC Standard Operating Procedures and training materials. Prior to eBay, Matthew served in the US Navy from 2005 to 2015, attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class and serving as an Electronics Instructor at the Center for Surface Combat Systems. Matthew also held the position of Work Center Supervisor on USS Shiloh. Matthew holds a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland University College and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
