Subrata Roy

Subrata Roy is an experienced executive in risk management and regulatory governance, currently serving as General Manager and Board Member at eBay Payments since March 2020, where responsibilities include leading regulatory interactions with the FCA and ensuring compliance with governance policies. Prior to eBay, Subrata held various leadership positions at Barclays, focusing on enterprise risk management and operational risk controls in digital banking from April 2019 to February 2020. Subrata’s extensive background also encompasses nearly two decades at American Express, with roles such as Vice President & Chief Credit Officer for Continental Europe and Vice President of Global Network Business, overseeing credit strategy and fraud mitigation initiatives. Earlier career experiences include roles in risk management at Bharti Cellular Ltd and CEAT Financial Services Ltd. Subrata holds degrees from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
