Alex Bateman is an accomplished professional in the field of bioinformatics and computational biology, currently serving as the Team Leader for the Sequence Families Team at InterPro/Pfam since April 2020. Bateman has held the position of Head of Protein Sequence Resources at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) since November 2012 and previously worked as a Senior Investigator at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute from October 1997 to October 2012.
