Aurélien L. is a Project Leader at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since April 2020, overseeing the website development team for UniProt, a leading resource in protein sequence and functional information. In this role, Aurélien directs the frontend team and coordinates collaborations with the UniProt Consortium, which includes institutions such as the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and the PIR Protein Information Resource at Georgetown University Medical Center. Additionally, Aurélien is involved in creating training materials and conducting educational sessions on UniProt. Previous experience includes positions as a Senior Developer at IRB Barcelona, where work focused on molecular modeling and bioinformatics, and various roles in web development and research at EMBL-EBI, Massey University, and CNRS. Aurélien holds an MSc in Bioinformatics from Université de Bordeaux and Bachelor's degrees in Biology from Universitat de Barcelona and Université Grenoble Alpes.
