Benjamin Maier

PHD Student

Benjamin Maier is a PhD student at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since October 2022, focusing on the automatic generation of context-specific data-driven executable models of cell signaling for disease progression analysis. Previously, Benjamin served as a Master Thesis Student and Research Assistant at SciLifeLab from April 2021 to October 2022, working on projects ranging from strobemer seeding methods to mathematical modeling of tumor-immune interactions. Early career experiences include research internships at Heidelberg University and Merck Group, along with a Bachelor’s thesis on the stochastic dynamics of interferon responses. Benjamin's education encompasses a PhD candidacy at the University of Cambridge (2022-2026) and multiple Master's degrees in Molecular Techniques in Life Science from various institutions.
