Carolin Sauer is currently serving as a Bye-Fellow in Natural Sciences and College Teaching Associate at Downing College Cambridge since September 2023, and holds postdoctoral fellow positions at the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI and Newnham College since May 2022 and October 2022, respectively. Sauer completed a PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Cambridge between October 2017 and January 2022, focusing on the Functional Genomics of Ovarian Cancer under the supervision of Prof James Brenton. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at The University of Manchester, where funding was secured from the Society of Endocrinology, and a Summer Studentship at the Society for Endocrinology. Other relevant experiences include an internship in the Department of Pathology at Krankenhaus Düren gem. GmbH, and full-time summer employment at Macherey-Nagel GmbH & Co. KG in the production of molecular-biological products. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons. in Biology from The University of Manchester and various entrepreneurial studies at Cambridge Judge Business School.
