Daniel Suveges is a Senior Bioinformatician at the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI, leading the data team for the OpenTargets Platform since April 2018. This role involves managing a group focused on developing and maintaining data processing and integration pipelines, as well as advancing data models relevant to drug target identification. Prior to this, Daniel contributed as a Bioinformatician at the GWAS Catalog developer team, participating in the launch of the new GWAS Catalog website and overseeing data and software release pipelines. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Bioinformatician at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, providing bioinformatics support for genome-wide association studies, and holding a Postdoctoral Fellow position at UCSF, where research focused on receptor tyrosine kinases involved in cancer. Daniel's academic journey includes an Assistant Lectureship at Eötvös Loránd University and completion of a PhD in Structural Biochemistry along with a MSc in Molecular Biology from the same institution.
