James Wright is a highly experienced bioinformatician with a focus on proteomics and informatics. Currently serving as a Principal Bioinformatician at The Institute of Cancer Research since October 2017, Wright also holds a position as a Visiting Researcher at the European Bioinformatics Institute since July 2021. Previously, as a Principal Bioinformatician in Proteomics at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute from April 2009 to September 2017, Wright drove bioinformatics research within proteomics teams, focusing on method development and data analysis. Earlier experience includes a role as a Senior Mass Spectrometry Data Analyst at the University of Liverpool and Manchester, and an industrial placement at Astrazeneca, where Wright developed tools for visualizing gene expression data. Academic credentials include a PhD in Proteomics and Informatics from the University of Liverpool, an MSc from The University of Manchester, and a BSc Hons from the same institution.
