Rolf Apweiler

Rolf Apweiler is the Director at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), a position held since 2015. They previously served as Associate Director at EMBL-EBI from 2012 to 2015, and held various roles within the organization, including Joint Head of the Protein and Nucleotide Data Group and Swiss-Prot Coordinator. Rolf's career also includes experience as a Researcher at Boehringer Mannheim and as a Swiss-Prot Annotator at EMBL. They earned their Diplom-Biologe and their Doctorate in Biology from Heidelberg University, where they studied from 1984 to 1994.
