Sarah Dyer is a highly experienced bioinformatician currently serving as a Group Leader at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since May 2021. Prior to this role, Sarah held positions as a Senior Scientist at NIAB from January 2017 to January 2022, and as the Crop Genomics and Diversity Group Leader at The Genome Analysis Centre from December 2011 to August 2016. Earlier experience includes postdoctoral fellowships in Bioinformatics at CIAT from August 2009 to November 2011 and The University of Manchester from January 2008 to August 2009. Sarah began a career in bioinformatics as an Ensembl software developer at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute from October 2005 to December 2007. Sarah earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioinformatics from The University of Manchester.
