Simone Weyand

Simone Weyand is an Independent Scientist at the University of Cambridge, where they focus on antimicrobial resistance in parasites and bacteria. They have served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at both the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Imperial College London. Currently, Simone also holds the position of Deputy Dean at Darwin College, University of Cambridge, and leads data curation at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). Their academic journey includes a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and a Diploma in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with First Class Honors from the University of Bremen.
