David Cook

David Cook is a seasoned professional in security and emergency preparedness, currently serving as the Manager of Security and Emergency Preparedness at EBMUD since April 2022. Previously, David Cook worked for the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff for over two decades, where responsibilities included roles as Lieutenant and Chief of Police for the City of Orinda, as well as leadership positions in various units, such as Marine Services, Homeland Security, and Patrol. David Cook's early career involved significant involvement in counter-terrorism and local law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff. Academia includes a Master’s degree in Emergency Service Administration from California State University Long Beach and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, complemented by training at the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.
