Lena Tam is a dedicated community leader and public servant who currently serves as the Vice-President of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, representing District 3. Elected in November 2022, Lena brings extensive experience as a former Vice Mayor of Alameda and a healthcare board president, along with over 30 years as the Manager of Water Resources Planning at the East Bay Municipal Utility District. Raised in the City of Alameda as a child of first-generation immigrants, Lena graduated from Alameda High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. Residing in District 3 for more than 50 years, Lena's commitment to environmental sustainability and local governance continues to impact the communities Lena serves.
