Alex Mares

Alex Mares has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Alex started their career in 2007 by developing a point-of-sale (POS) desktop application for small to medium businesses. In 2009, they worked as a hardware and software developer, creating a multitouch surface with N points of interaction.

In 2011, Alex founded their own company and worked as a web developer, specializing in e-commerce web application development. Alex focused on creating a platform that allowed payments and money transfers for poker businesses and other Romanian merchants.

From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a senior software consultant at EBS Romania, where they developed custom application modules and maintained SQL databases. Alex also worked on the GIP Project, creating new modules using .NET C# and WinForms/WPF.

In 2012, Alex joined thomsons online benefits as a senior technical lead, involved in developing a rich web application connected to a multi-tier platform. Alex worked on various functionalities across different tiers, using technologies like ASP.

In 2016, Alex co-founded Ebriza Cloud POS and took on the role of CTO. Alex was responsible for the product and all technical aspects. The company implemented innovative features such as peer-to-peer device communication, distributed consensus algorithms, server-less data storage, offline-first mobile apps, and big data manipulation tools.

During their time at Ebriza, Alex also served as the CEO. Alex led the company in its mission to provide cloud POS solutions and managed the overall operations.

In 2017, Alex worked as a technical mentor at Risky Business - With Us, providing guidance and support to other professionals in the technical field.

From 2001 to 2008, Alex Mares attended the Technical University Cluj Napoca. During this time, they pursued a degree in Computer Science and successfully completed their studies, earning the title of Engineer.
