Michael Blake

Michael Blake is a dedicated professional from The Bronx, the youngest son of Jamaican immigrants, committed to advancing social justice and democracy through various leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the Founder and CEO of the Kairos Democracy Project, where they focus on storytelling and communications around the practical benefits of democracy. Blake has previously held positions such as Assembly Member for the 79th District in New York from 2014 to 2020, where they championed critical legislation for minority and women-owned businesses and led initiatives like raising the age of criminal responsibility. They also contributed to the Democratic National Committee as Vice Chair at Large from 2017 to 2021 and worked in the Obama-Biden White House on outreach to diverse communities. A proud alum of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Blake is also affiliated with various organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Council on Foreign Relations.
