Jon Pillow

Jon Pillow serves as the Head of Research and Innovation at Echion Technologies, where the focus is on developing advanced anode materials for next-generation batteries, particularly the XNO® composition. As a Domain Expert at Carbon13, Jon Pillow contributes to ventures aimed at reducing emissions. Previously, Jon co-founded Matnex, a deep-tech startup from Cambridge University dedicated to accelerating the development of materials that lower global CO2e emissions. Jon Pillow was also the founder of Carbon13 Venture Builder, which addressed the climate crisis through collaborative entrepreneurial efforts. With extensive experience at Cambridge Display Technology Limited, Jon held various senior roles focusing on material-based technology opportunities. Jon Pillow holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and an MChem degree, both from the University of Oxford.
