Matthew Ugarph has had a long and varied career in engineering. Matthew began their career in 2001 as an Engineering Laboratory Technician in the US Navy. Matthew then progressed through the Enlisted Naval Nuclear Power Training Program and the Seaman to Admiral Enlisted Commissioning Program before becoming a Junior Officer on the USS Seawolf in 2006. In this role, they served as Assistant Operations Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, and Reactor Controls Assistant. After leaving the Navy in 2016, Matthew joined Digital Lumens as the Director of Application Engineering. Here, they led a global team responsible for development of solution architecture, technical support, and implementation of server and cloud based IoT platforms. In 2020, they moved to Joule Case as Director, Partner and Customer Success, managing partner relationships and developing partner and customer facing technical documentation and materials. Matthew is currently in 2021 the Director, Applications Engineering at Echodyne.
Matthew Ugarph obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Naval Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 2006 and 2009. In 2016, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. In December of 2020, they were awarded a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
