Dr. Avriel Epps

Dr. Avriel Epps is a computational social scientist and an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of California, Riverside. They completed their Ph.D. at Harvard University with a focus on Human Development and held a Rita Allen Civic Science Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cornell University's Citizens and Technology Lab. As the co-founder of AI4Abolition, Avriel promotes AI literacy in marginalized communities, while their research examines the implications of bias in predictive technologies on identity development. They have contributed to various academic and popular outlets, and currently engage a large audience through social media platforms.
