Jaskaran Kaur is an accomplished leader in the nonprofit sector with extensive experience in social justice and LGBTQ+ advocacy. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Open Books since October 2024, Jaskaran has significantly contributed to bringing LGBTQ+ affirming stories to over one million students across 1,500 schools. As a Global Fellow with Echoing Green since March 2006, Jaskaran has supported emerging social entrepreneurs. As an Independent Consultant for Nonprofit Growth starting January 2025, Jaskaran focuses on strategic planning for organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community. Previous positions include Chief Operating Officer at Embrace Global, where organizational assessments and strategic planning were key responsibilities, and Co-Founder and Co-Director of Ensaaf, which documents crimes against humanity and engages in strategic litigation. Jaskaran holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
