Fernando Carrillo

Fernando Carrillo is a seasoned professional in regulatory affairs, currently serving as Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at EchoStar Corporation since July 2022. Previously, Carrillo held managerial and senior director roles in international regulatory affairs at Amazon Project Kuiper and Hughes, where responsibilities included regulatory strategy. A significant portion of Carrillo's career was spent at the Federal Telecommunications Commission, where roles included Director General for Regulation and Chief of Staff, focusing on telecommunications regulation and spectrum management. Educated in Telecommunications at UCLA and holding a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Carrillo has also contributed to academia as a full-time professor and has experience as a technical advisor for satellite communications projects.
