John Aikens

John Aikens is an experienced satellite operations professional with a diverse background spanning multiple roles within the aerospace sector. Currently serving as a Satellite Controller at EchoStar Corporation since January 2019, John manages spacecraft operations during 24/7 shifts and contributes to project updates and reporting. Prior to this role, John worked at LinQuest as an Operational Engineer, involved in real-time satellite operations and system evaluations throughout various mission phases. John's extensive background includes nearly a decade at Lockheed Martin IS&GS in positions ranging from Test Engineer to Mission Resource Controller, as well as significant military experience as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, where responsibilities included satellite operations and operational evaluations. John holds a Master of Science in Space Systems Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in General/Liberal Studies from the United States Air Force Academy.
