Dan Phoenix

Dan Phoenix is the owner of Phoenix BJJ, a Jiu Jitsu community focused on self-defense, competition, and the art of Jiu Jitsu. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Networking and Security at EchoStor Technologies. Dan also served as a Staff NSBU Specialist at VMware, specializing in network virtualization and providing technical solutions for healthcare customers. Before that, Dan worked as a Senior Networking and Security Sales Specialist at Sirius Computer Solutions, where they focused on SDN, network virtualization, DC networking, and network security. Prior to that, they worked at Cisco Systems as an Enterprise Architect, leading architectural designs and providing consultative business value engagements. Dan also held the role of Consulting Systems Architect, specializing in collaboration and video technologies. Earlier in their career, Dan worked at Computer Solutions as a Senior Solution Architect, providing support for Cisco unified communications and network solutions. Dan also worked at Distributed Application Technologies as the Vice President of Partner, developing network practices and driving revenue. Lastly, they worked as a Senior Networking Systems Specialist at Expanets.

Dan Phoenix has a Master of Science (MS) degree with a Cyber Security concentration in IT Management from Southern New Hampshire University. Dan also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Studies with a focus on Organizational Leadership, also from Southern New Hampshire University. Additionally, they have an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from ITT Technical Institute.

In terms of certifications, Dan obtained the VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 - Network Virtualization Deployment (VCA6-NV) certification from VMware in May 2019. Dan also has the VCP-NV certification from VMware, obtained in June 2018. Furthermore, they hold the CompTIA Network+ Certification and the CompTIA A+ Certification, both obtained in April 2002 and January 2002 respectively.

Moreover, Dan has several Cisco certifications. These include the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Collaboration (CCIE Collaboration) certification, obtained in April 2007. Dan also has certifications such as Cisco Certified Networking Professional - Enterprise, Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching), and Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP Routing and Switching). These certifications were obtained in various years ranging from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, they hold the Cisco Certified Specialist - Collaboration Core, Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation, Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core, and Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Design certifications, all obtained in March 2005. Dan also has the retired CCIE Voice certification from Cisco, obtained in April 2007.
