ECIA – Kwazulu Natal was established in 2005 by Marius Meyer and offers services in Short Term Underwriting Management. Offices in the Eastern Cape was established in 2008, making the same services available to the intermediaries. An office in Gauteng opened in 2016 which service various intermediary companies in that region. Cape Town offices opened doors in April 2017, and services the Cape region. Our short term product services include Personal lines, Commercial insurance, Sectional Titles, Commercial Buildings and Agriculture. We have a very strong bond with our Insurers which include Santam Insurance, Bidvest Insurance, Nzalo Insurance and Constantia Insurance Companies. ECIA is also the official insurance underwriting manager for the Sharks, Lions & other provincial Rugby players. Insurance cover for various other high profile clients and sportsman nationally are also part of our portfolio

Understanding an intermediary’s needs with short term insurance, we assist a registered intermediary with ECIA to:

– obtain, produce and administer quotations
– accepting and placing of new business and assisting with queries at this status
– processing and finalizing policy amendments on existing business
– policy wordings, applications, schedules and letters are sent by fax, email or electronic format to intermediaries
– Nzalo Insurance: full claims settlement authority
– Bidvest Insurance: claims processing
– Constantia Insurance: claims processing
– Santam Insurance: claims queries & assistance
– obtaining agencies for the intermediary who do not have existing agencies with our Underwriters

Acting on behalf of these Insurers and fulfilling the role of the Underwriting Managers has enabled us to fully understand the short term industry over the years, and this has not only made us understand the need for service delivery but also the need for personal service, technology and streamlined processes. Making things as easy and effective as possible for our intermediaries will in turn make it easier for their clients.
