Lori Ernst has been working in the professional world since 1993, when they joined the US Army as a Captain in Medical Services (MSC). In 2001, they began working at UPS Supply Chain Solutions as a US Healthcare Quality professional. Two years later, they founded ECL2 Quality Solutions, where they served as President & CEO until 2008. That same year, they began working at Ideagen PLC as a Reseller for Q-Pulse Software. In 2003, they took on the role of Executive Director at ROi/Sisters of Mercy Health System in Quality Assurance Regulatory Affairs & Optimization. Most recently, in 2018, they became the President & Founder of Return the Salute, a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit serving Veterans that have suffered upper limb loss.

Lori Ernst began their educational journey in 1989, when they enrolled in various schools, including the University of Maine, Temple University, and Villanova University, and completed their B.S. degree, as well as some graduate work. Her field of study included Business, Pharmacy, and Project Management. In 2009, they returned to school and earned an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University in 2012.
