Jörn Hoffmann is currently the Destination Earth Partnership Lead at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. From 2015 to 2016, Jörn served as a Seconded National Expert at the European Space Agency, focusing on Earth Observation Programme planning. Prior to that, Jörn held positions as a Scientific Officer at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs, and at DLR, where they coordinated national contributions to the European Copernicus programme and international GEO initiatives. Jörn completed a PhD in Geophysics at Stanford University in 2003 and earned a Vordiplom in Geophysics from Universität Karlsruhe in 1997.
