Peter Lean

Peter Lean is a Senior Scientist at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), where they focus on the research, development, and implementation of Continuous Data Assimilation in IFS 4D-Var. Previously, they held positions as a Research Scientist at the Met Office, where they contributed to mesoscale model development, and served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at both Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech. Earlier in their career, Peter was an EUMETSAT Research Fellow at the University of Reading and worked as a Scientific Programmer in the Satellite Data Section at ECMWF.
