Robin Hogan is a Principal Scientist at ECMWF and a Professor of Atmospheric Physics at the University of Reading. They specialize in the interaction of sunlight and infrared radiation with clouds and greenhouse gases, and have developed innovative numerical algorithms for radiative transfer in weather and climate models. Robin has published over 140 peer-reviewed articles, achieving an h-index of 49, and their "ecRad" radiation scheme is widely utilized in atmospheric models. They currently co-chair the Mission Advisory Group for the ESA-JAXA "EarthCARE" satellite, set to launch in 2024. Robin earned a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Reading and a First Class Honours BSc in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leicester.
