At Econinjas, we are a brother-and-sister-led team with a background in healthcare and a passion for innovation. Our mission is to improve patient safety, strengthen communication in clinical settings, and reduce single-use waste through smart, sustainable solutions.
We design and supply reusable theatre hats with detachable name badges, offering a practical, hygienic, and eco-conscious alternative to disposable surgical caps. These hats can be centrally laundered, ensuring infection control standards are met, while the removable name badges allow for clear identification of roles and individuals, even when staff are scrubbed up and including all visitors and staff on short term rotations.
Clear identification helps teams communicate more effectively, especially in high-pressure environments like Operating Theatres, Maternity Units, Radiology, and Cardiac Catheter Labs. By enabling staff to address each other by name and role, our solution supports faster team bonding, improved efficiency, and ultimately, better patient outcomes.

What Teams Are Saying:
“Good for comms, especially for new team members and high-stress situations.”
“I can name people more easily, even if I missed their name at briefing.”
“It reduces hierarchy—makes it easier to ask questions and build rapport.”
“Sustainable and safer than personal hats—professionally laundered and reusable.”

What Patients Are Saying:
“Excellent. About time instead of having to look at a doctor's groin (where the name badge dangles). Please role out everywhere in the NHS. Just common sense”.
“I had orthopaedic surgery yesterday at MPH and must say as a patient this was lovely. People wear ID lanyards but often have them tucked in pockets to keep them out of the way. I could talk to people and immediately know who they were and what their role was. Very reassuring”.
“As an autistic person who struggles with faces on a good day, this is an excellent initiative!”
