John Silva has a diverse work experience in software engineering and management roles. John started their career as a Software Engineer at Orincon, where they developed intrusion detection and security products for the US Air Force Research Laboratory and US Joint Battle Command. John also led a team in designing and developing a predictive cyber-intrusion support tool.

John then moved on to Enterprise Media Networks (EMN8) as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed integrations for various point of sale applications and created a framework for mapping product representations between databases. John also worked on custom high availability kiosk applications and obtained and maintained PCI certification. John later became a Software Architect at EMN8 and was responsible for developing a technology roadmap and leading the design and development of a hardware peripheral integration framework.

John's most recent experience was at ecoATM, where they held several roles. John initially joined as a Senior Software Architect, leading a team in creating the software for a novel phone recycling kiosk. John then became a Manager Software Engineering, leading a team in maintaining and adding new features to the kiosk. Finally, they served as the Director of Software Engineering, overseeing the design and development of a complete refactor of the kiosk's user interface and workflow engine. John actively participated in cross-functional teams and proposed forward-looking business features to keep ecoATM at the forefront of the phone recycling business.
