Carsten Kern

Carsten Kern has extensive experience in finance and leadership roles. Carsten is currently the Finance Director at Ecobat, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an External Advisor at Urban Clean Drive starting in July 2021. From November 2021 to March 2023, Carsten served as the Finance Director at SGS.

Before joining SGS, Carsten held various roles at Henkel, including Head of Innovation Centers from January 2018 to October 2021. During their time at Henkel, they also served as the Financial Commercial Director Innovation from January 2018 to June 2019, President/Country Manager South & East Africa/CFO Subsaharan Africa from April 2015 to December 2017, and Global Head of Financial Commercial Management from July 2010 to March 2015.

Prior to Henkel, Carsten worked as the Director of Group Controlling & National Accounting at BRITA Group from January 2008 to March 2010. Carsten started their career at Porsche Design Group as the Group Finance Director from October 2003 to December 2007. Carsten also worked at Porsche AG, where they held the positions of Assistant to the CEO/Strategy Dept. from October 2000 to October 2003, and Financial Controller/Group Controlling from February 1997 to September 2000.

Carsten Kern received their Diplom degree in Wirtschaftsingenieur from Technische Universität Darmstadt, where they studied from 1990 to 1996. Carsten also pursued Executive Education at Thunderbird School of Global Management and IESE Business School in 2013. In 2010, they attended Mannheim Business School.
