Mark Malchiondo

VP of Software Development at ecobee

Mark had a dream – that one day he would change the way people consume energy – and he achieved it. After co-founding ecobee with fellow-dreamer Stuart Lombard, Mark created the world’s first Wi-Fi-enabled thermostat with remote control and web/mobile monitoring. Clever stuff, we think, yet this humble man still insists his ecobee colleagues are smarter than him, and we’re flattered. Before developing this game-changing innovation, Mark led the Intel team in the development of the highest speed VPN router of its time. A true inventor, he was also hired at the age of 16 to write assembly code for his school’s library database on an Apple II computer. Needless to say, we’re proud to call this modern-day Thomas Edison our VP Software Development.
