Mark Strofton

Mark Strofton is an experienced engineering leader who has held various roles in the technology industry. Mark recently joined ecobee as the Director of Engineering. Prior to that, they worked at Sky Betting & Gaming, where they served as the Head of Engineering for the Sportsbook & Trading division and later as the Head of Engineering for Trading Technology. In these roles, Mark led teams responsible for developing and maintaining sports betting technology, pricing algorithms, and risk management tools.

Before their time at Sky Betting & Gaming, Mark worked at The Stars Group as the Head of Engineering for the Group Sportsbook & Trading Platform Tribe, where they oversaw the development of the platform and applications for the company's sports betting products. Mark also has experience leading engineering teams at Sky Betting & Gaming, where they were accountable for engineering across various teams and played a key role in building strategic services for the company's website and gaming division.

Prior to their work at Sky Betting & Gaming, Mark had their own company called M G Strofton Ltd and worked as an Analyst Programmer at Orange UK. Mark started their career as a developer at an agency called england and later worked as a developer for Orange UK.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated expertise in various technologies and frameworks, including Kubernetes, Kafka, Kotlin, React, and Swift. Mark has a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability in their work.

From 1993 to 2000, they attended St George's School Harpenden and obtained their A Levels in Maths, Physics, and IT.

Between 2000 and 2005, they pursued their higher education at Loughborough University, where they earned a degree in Computer Science with a classification of MComp 2.1.

In 2017, they attended Cambridge Judge Business School for a brief period and specialized in Organizational Leadership. Mark completed a program called "Best Practice in Management."

In addition to their formal education, Mark Strofton received the ILM Level 5 Leadership & Management certification from ILM in July 2017.
