Nelson Chu

Nelson Chu has a wide range of work experience, starting with their most recent role as QA Engineering Manager at ecobee since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Lead QA Engineer at ecobee from March 2020 to June 2021. Nelson also served as an Assistant Coach (Volunteer) at Stride Muay Thai from April 2019 to March 2021. Nelson was a QA Lead at PureFacts Financial Solutions from July 2019 to March 2020.

Before that, Nelson Chu held various positions at Kijiji Canada, including Quality Engineering Manager from July 2014 to June 2019 and Senior Quality Engineer from November 2013 to July 2014. Nelson was an Intermediate Quality Engineer at Rakuten Kobo Inc. from May 2012 to November 2013. Prior to that, Nelson worked as a QA Engineer, Automation at Informatica from October 2011 to May 2012.

Nelson Chu also has experience at Rakuten Kobo Inc. as an Intermediate QA Analyst/Test Engineer from December 2010 to October 2011. Nelson started their career at IBM, where they worked as a QA Engineer / Automation Developer for InfoSphere Change Data Capture from March 2008 to November 2010, and as a QA Analyst for DB2 LUW SVT (System Verification Test) from June 2007 to March 2008.

Additionally, Nelson Chu worked as a QA Automation Developer at DataMirror Corp. from May 2005 to September 2006. Nelson began their career in the retail industry as a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician at Shopper's Drug Mart from November 2002 to January 2006.

Nelson Chu obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, attending from 2002 to 2007. Nelson also earned a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in April 2019.
