Philip Cheng

Philip Cheng has extensive work experience in finance and auditing. Philip is currently working as the Chief Financial Officer at ecobee since May 2021. Prior to that, they held the same position at Rakuten Kobo Inc. from September 2011 to May 2021. Before entering the technology sector, they worked at Indigo Books & Music as the Director of Internal Audit from 2007 to 2011. Philip started their career at KPMG LLP as an Audit Manager from 2002 to 2007.

Philip Cheng's education history includes obtaining a Chartered Accountant (CA) degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, which was completed by the year 2005. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Accounting (MAcc) from the University of Waterloo starting in 2002 and ending in 2003. Philip had previously completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Honours Accountancy Studies from the University of Waterloo, which spanned from 1998 to 2002.
