EcoCounts and EcoCore are two connected initiatives working to answer a simple question: how do we turn climate concern into meaningful, lasting change?

EcoCounts is the grassroots, community-led part of that work. Based in North and Central London, we bring residents together to reduce their carbon footprints in ways that are realistic, fair and supported by peer networks.

EcoCore complements this by connecting lived experience with research, policy and academic collaboration and helps ensure that what happens in communities informs wider thinking on carbon literacy, behaviour change and fair transition.

Many people want to live more sustainably but feel overwhelmed, isolated or unsure where to begin. EcoCounts exists to close that gap by combining practical tools, shared learning and peer support that make low-carbon living achievable over time — while EcoCore strengthens the evidence base behind that approach.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief: climate action works best when it's shared.

Through weekly meet-ups, small accountability groups, workshops and community partnerships, we help people understand and track their carbon impact, test practical changes and sustain new habits together. This approach reduces climate anxiety, builds confidence and leads to measurable behaviour change — while also strengthening wellbeing and local connection.

Fairness sits at the heart of what we do. EcoCounts focuses on inclusive, accessible action that can save money, reduce emissions and build resilience — ensuring that climate solutions work for everyone, not just those who can afford them.

EcoCounts is volunteer-led and supported by funders who believe that real climate progress starts locally and scales through community, evidence and collaboration.

EcoCounts CIO is a charity registered in the UK, reg #1196590.
