Matthew Forrest

Matthew Forrest is the Founder and Managing Director of EcoHoist, a company specializing in hoisting equipment for the underground mining industry, established in April 2023. Previously, Matthew founded Economical Energy in November 2019, focusing on a patent-pending utility scale energy storage technique that promises significant cost advantages over existing technologies. Matthew also served as an Analytics Engineer at MaxMine and as a Research Engineer at the University of Adelaide, where contributions included designing a robotic system for testing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Additionally, Matthew held the position of Engineering Manager with the University of Adelaide Formula SAE Team. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechatronics and a Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences from the University of Adelaide, graduated in 2018.
