Jochen Pflug

Jochen Pflug is the current CEO and Chairman at EconCore. Jochen has over 13 years of experience with ThermHex Waben GmbH, a licensee and daughter company of EconCore NV from Leuven (Belgium). ThermHex Waben GmbH produces polypropylene (PP) honeycomb core for lightweight sandwich panels and parts. The continuous and efficient ThermHex production process allows for the use of honeycomb core in applications where, mostly for cost reason, the PP honeycomb cores were not considered an option before.

Before their time at ThermHex, Jochen was a Managing Director and Owner at EconCore for 16 years and 7 months. EconCore is the global leader in new technologies for economic sandwich material production technologies. EconCore provides core technologies for most economic honeycomb sandwich panels and parts.

Jochen's experience in the industry began as a Researcher Assistant at K.U.Leuven, where they worked for 7 years. During their time there, they gained valuable experience that would help him in their future roles.

Jochen Pflug has a Doctor of Engineering Science from KU Leuven in Materials Engineering, a Master’s Degree from KU Leuven in European Postgraduate Education in Polymer and Composites Engineering, and a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) from FH Aachen in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.
