Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith is an experienced leader in economic development and government affairs with over 20 years of federal service. Currently, Ryan serves as the Acting Director for Budget and Finance at the U.S. Economic Development Administration, overseeing budget execution and financial operations while ensuring alignment with the agency's mission. Previously, Ryan directed the Research and National Technical Assistance program at EDA and served as an Environmental Protection Specialist at the U.S. EPA, where they implemented performance metrics and contributed to various environmental programs. Ryan holds a BA in Economics from the State University of New York College at Geneseo and an MA in Economics from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School.
