Tom Baron, AICP, has significant experience in urban planning and economic development, currently serving as an Economic Development Representative with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration since July 2020. Previously, Tom was a Principal Planner at the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission from January 2018 to July 2020, where responsibilities included managing a substantial Economic Development Administration planning agreement and implementing a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. Earlier roles included Associate Planner, in which Tom coauthored a Global Trade Strategy and managed project management software procurement, and Planner, responsible for an action plan for the Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway and overseeing EDA-funded construction projects. Tom holds a degree in Urban and Regional Studies with a focus on Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
