Robert Whelan

Robert Whelan, currently holding the position of Director and Senior Economist at ECONorthwest since February 1996, has a background in mineral economics and earth sciences. Prior to their role at ECONorthwest, Robert worked as a Mineral Economist at the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries from 1992 to 1995 and held the title of Director of Strategic Planning at NERCO, Inc. from 1983 to 1992. With experience in market research and economic consulting, Robert's career also includes positions at Amax Incorporated and Chase Manhattan Bank. Robert obtained their MS in Mineral Economics from Columbia University in 1981 and their BS in Earth Sciences from Adelphi University in 1975.
