Joren Verschaeve

Joren Verschaeve is a Senior Programme Manager at ECOS since June 2022, focusing on promoting and defending environmental interests in European and international standards related to energy-intensive industries, particularly in cement, concrete, and steel. Previously, Joren served as a Programme Manager with similar responsibilities and as a Board Member at Netwerk Bewust Verbruiken. Experience includes a policy officer role in circular economy at HERWIN and a post-doctoral researcher position at Ghent University, specializing in EU international policies and sustainable development. Joren's educational background includes a Ph.D. in EU Studies, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree from Ghent University, complemented by a foundational education in sciences and mathematics.
