John Heneghan

President at ECS

As president of ECS, Mr. Heneghan works with executive leadership to guide company strategy, drive new growth, expand the organization’s solution offerings, and deliver award-winning results to customers across public sector, defense, intelligence, and commercial industries.

Mr. Heneghan joined ECS in 2017 as vice president of enterprise solutions and was promoted to senior vice president in 2019. He led the delivery of information technology (IT) modernization, cybersecurity, cloud, data analytics, and engineering services to customers in federal civilian, homeland security, and defense agencies. In 2021, Mr. Heneghan became the company’s chief operating officer (COO), where he managed ECS’ customer delivery, business operations, business development, and acquisition strategy. Mr. Heneghan has overseen six acquisitions, which have diversified ECS’ customer portfolio, enhanced the company’s solution capabilities, and expanded revenues to over $1 billion.

Mr. Heneghan has more than 20 years’ experience in business strategy, corporate development, company growth, and technology solution development. Prior to joining ECS, Mr. Heneghan served as vice president of CGI Federal. Under his leadership, their Department of Homeland Security sector achieved industry-leading year-over-year growth and expanded its portfolio to include citizen services, engineering services, cloud and managed services, and cybersecurity solutions. Mr. Heneghan also led business development operations at Stanley Associates (now part of CGI Federal) during his tenure as director of corporate development and proposals.

He has a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland.
