Matt Mervis

Matt Mervis is the current Director of Skills21 at EdAdvance. Matt has been in this position since January 1993. Prior to that, they were a Professional Development Specialist at EdAdvance, where they provided training and consulting services to 31 member school districts in areas including instruction and assessment, curriculum development, vocational education, strategic planning, technology infusion and multi-district magnet school/program development.

From January 2006 to December 2009, Matt Mervis was the Director of Technology for North Adams Public Schools. In this role, they provided direction, leadership and management for the district’s Information Technology Team and Instructional Technology Teams. Matt also led the implementation of the Berkshire Wireless Learning Initiative (www.bwli.org) for North Adams Public Schools in conjunction with the Superintendent and School Committee.

From January 2005 to December 2014, Matt Mervis was the CEO / Director of 1000 Paces. During this time, they were also the Owner-Founder of AE Communications from January 1997 to December 2014.

Prior to their work in education and technology, Matt Mervis was a High School Theirtory Teacher at Plains High School from January 1991 to December 1993.

Matt Mervis graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Matt Mervis reports to Jeffrey Kitching, Executive Director. They work with Sarah Moran - Department Director of BASES, Scott Rossignol - Director of PLA, and Laura Miller - Director of ACCESS, Bethel.
