Karla Dodd is an experienced counselor and milieu therapist currently working at the Eating Disorder Center of Denver since January 2013, where responsibilities include facilitating psycho-educational and skills-based groups, meal therapy, and fostering a recovery-focused environment for patients with eating disorders and psychiatric co-morbidities. Prior experience includes serving as a clinical mentor and art therapist at The Capital Region Children's Center, providing in-home support for children and families, and completing art therapy internships at Miriam's Kitchen and Wheatley Education Campus, where therapeutic services were offered to adults experiencing homelessness and children with emotional disabilities, respectively. Karla also contributed as a co-teacher in an Intensive Learning Center for students with Autism. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Studio Art from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Eating disorders are a serious mental health issue and finding the right treatment program is important. Founded in 2001, EDCare offers patients, their families, healthcare professionals and the community over 22 years of eating disorder experience. Our flagship center is located in the heart of Denver, Colorado where we are committed to empowering individuals suffering from eating disorders to make healthy, long-lasting changes. EDCare has become one of the nation’s foremost center for the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of board-certified psychiatrists, physicians, clinicians, family and experiential therapists, and registered dietitians provide treatment to adults, ages 18 and older, of all genders and ethnicities. We offer a safe, judgment-free environment where individuals can gain the tools and support they need overcome the serious complications of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other related disorders. Upon admission, an interdisciplinary treatment team is assigned to each patient based on their individual needs. This means every treatment plan is unique and is designed to fit the individual. We currently offer various programs in Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska. All of our treatment centers have earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval. Housing options available in Denver and Kanas City. Most major insurance plans accepted.
