Ying Ren has extensive work experience in software engineering and development. They started their career in 1998 as a Software Engineer at Jeppesen Dataplan, where they developed client-server architecture systems and coded and built Linux kernel and devices. After that, they worked as a Software Engineer at SGI, where they specified, designed, integrated, and developed a search server for digital asset management.
In 2003, Ying became a Lead Quality Assurance Software Engineer at QED labs, responsible for all aspects of software quality assurance. They also maintained and augmented the user guidance system. They then joined Tellme Networks in 2006 as a Software Development Engineer in Test, where they owned the overall quality of the end-to-end business intelligence services and improved efficiency through tool building and test automation.
In 2007, Ying started working at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer in Test and later became a Software Engineer. They designed and developed various services and components, integrating feeds and channels to provide efficient and reusable solutions. They also developed and tested code in C#.
From 2015 to 2019, Ying worked at Uber as a Full Stack Engineer and then as a Software Engineer. They contributed to various projects, including implementing payment options, developing screen flows, and creating tools for visualization and analysis. Finally, since 2020, Ying has been working as a Sr Software Engineer at EdCast.
Ying Ren has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in China. Additionally, they have a Master's degree in Computer Science from Northwestern Polytechnic University in Fremont.
