Shane McLean

Shane McLean has worked in the software engineering industry since 1995. Shane began their career as a Software Engineer at Intel Corporation, where they worked on the web UI team for LANDesk Client Manager and created and programmed an ISAPI DLL for LANDesk Support Center. In 2003, they joined Symantec as a Software Engineer and worked on the Symantec Protection Center console, using various technologies. In 2011, they joined Ancestry as a Senior Development Manager and iOS Software Engineer and focused on adding value, increasing user engagement, and attracting new users for the AncestryDNA mobile app for iOS and Android. In 2020, they moved to GMetrix LLC as a Senior Software Engineer - Front End, working on an authoring panel to allow writers to easily create various types of course ware. In 2021, they returned to Ancestry as a Senior iOS Engineer, and in 2022 they joined Eddy as a Staff Software Engineer. In addition, Shane is the Founder of Flatcracker Software LLC and the creator of Period Plus Fertility Tracker, a popular women's app that has over 1.9 million downloads and is rated #1 in the "Top 10 Women’s Health apps for iOS" on Healthtap.

Shane McLean attended Utah Valley University from 1987 to 1989. In July 2018, they obtained a certification in Transitioning from Manager to Leader from LinkedIn.
