Greg Burgess

CTO at Eddy

Greg Burgess is the current Chief Technical Officer at Eddy, a position they have held since June 2018. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director of Engineering at Ancestry.com from January 2005 to January 2018. There, they led the development of AncestryDNA, which quickly became a 500 million dollar business unit of Ancestry.com. Under Greg's leadership, the team doubled revenue every year for the last five years.

Eddy is an all-in-one HR platform that is currently in its early stages of development. Greg is leading the team responsible for building the product from the ground up. This includes developing the back-end services and database, shipping and clearing house web portals, operational and customer service tools, and web reports. Given their experience with managing rapid growth and large teams of engineers, Greg is well-suited for this task.

So far, their time at Eddy has been exciting and challenging. Greg has enjoyed working with product, UX, and executive teams to determine product direction. In addition, they have had to split and decouple code and databases to keep teams efficient. In the future, Greg plans to continue pushing for more automated testing and increased code quality.

Greg Burgess has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and a High School diploma from Grantsville High School.

Greg Burgess reports to Travis Hansen, Co-Founder & CEO. They work with Kenny Freestone - CPO, Jason Perrenoud - COO, and Jared Price - Director of Engineering, Client Systems. Harrison Burgess - QA Engineer, Riley Reed - QA Engineer, and Jason Hunter - Principle Software Engineer report to Greg Burgess.
